St. Louis Living Arts school playground has received a beautiful new addition, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our Grade 6 students and their mentors, Ms. Penner and Mr. Hercun.
Through the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), these young builders have constructed three stunning cedar benches, adding both charm and comfort to our outdoor space.
This project is particularly special as it serves as a lasting legacy for our Grade 6 students, showcasing their skills, teamwork, and commitment to making our school a better place.
Under the expert guidance of Ms. Penner and Mr. Hercun, the students learned valuable carpentry skills, from measuring and cutting the cedar wood to assembling and finishing the benches.
The new benches will soon become a favorite spot for students and staff alike. Whether it's a place to relax during recess, sit and chat with friends, or simply enjoy a peaceful moment in nature, these benches are a wonderful addition to our playground.
We are incredibly proud of our Grade 6 students for their hard work and dedication. Their efforts have not only enhanced our playground but also demonstrated the incredible potential and talent within our school community. This legacy project is a testament to the power of hands-on learning and the positive impact of mentorship.
Thank you, Ms. Penner and Mr. Hercun, for your guidance and support, and congratulations to our Grade 6 students on a job well done!
