Our curriculum includes comprehensive and creative programming in art and design, food arts, gardening and animal care, beekeeping, vocal and dramatic arts, instrumental music, traditional crafts, outdoor education, and much more.

Strong Ecological Mindset
We strive to be leaders in taking action to increase and amplify ecological programming and practices. We believe these actions will lead to greater care for creation. We are a certified Platinum EcoSchool and have also been recognized as a Bee City School through Bee City Canada for our work in creating a Pollinator Habitat at the school.

Growing
Curriculum is boldly brought to life through rich experiences, known as the Living Arts. Opportunities are offered in each grade and increase in complexity through the grades. For example, in Preserving, a Grade One Class might dehydrate fruit, while a Grade Five Class would make soap.

We are proud of our long standing partnerships with many local artists who bring their specific knowledge to our classes and school, enriching our curriculum. We are proud to offer many after-school workshops led by our staff and community members in a variety of the arts. Our students are immersed in opportunities that allow them to connect with and contribute to our local community.

The Arts
At St. Louis we are known for our performing arts, choir and visual art programming. Our choir performs at various times throughout the year in the community and also enjoys taking part in the Kenora District Festival of The Arts. Every other year our school enjoys putting on a musical that had come to be community renowned. We also offer many after school drama workshops as well as a variety of visual arts workshops and events including this past year hosting famous children's illustrator Barbara Reid for a virtual plasticine workshop.
